I designed and 3D printed this fabric Binding Spool for my mother-in-law, a passionate quilter and sewer with over 35 years of experience. After trying other quilt binding holders, she wished for one with extra space to wrap more binding. So, I created this DIY design from the ground up—a sturdy, elegant quilting tool that offers more capacity while staying practical for everyday use.
This spool holder is a must-have addition to your quilting accessories, keeping your binding organized and off the floor. The center slit can hold binding or other materials, like fabric trim or border tape, up to 2″ wide. It fits most sewing machine spool pins, or you can attach a chain to wear it around your neck.
